A Little Update

Patrick and I have come to a crossroads of sorts. We haven't known each other for very long and I feel that moving forward too quickly is not a great idea. I am still having fun getting to know him. We are not dating exclusively and yet, we see each other quite a bit or talk on the phone almost every night. He is a great guy. There is definitely something about him. However, I want to protect myself and so I've decided to slow things down a bit. Luckily, he is gone this weekend and I am gone the next and then out for a quick trip with Laverne. I have some thinking to do.

The Australian boy called me the other day - still don't know what to think about him. I figure he would have called sooner if he was actually interested in getting to know me better. I guess we see.

Because Today I Could Use a Little Love Protection

Something So Sweet

Patrick stopped by the house on his way out of town with flowers in hand. Seriously. I haven't gotten flowers from a guy for a really long time. I'm not really a flower girl (meaning, I think there are better ways to spend your money but...) I appreciate the thoughtfulness of them. My grandma has been sick for a couple of days and I went to visit her in the hospital today. She doesn't look good, I'm worried. Patrick sent me a text message that I got right as I was leaving the hospital. It was perfect timing. Just a sweet message. So the flowers were a follow up to our earlier messages.

Before Patrick arrive at my house, my in-laws showed up. They occasionally stop by to see the grand kids. It was so nice of them to come and my kids love having them come over. Patrick arrived a few minutes later. I think this could have been one of those awkward moments, but I kept Patrick out on the front porch (not really ready to introduce him to the kids) and grandpa and grandma stayed inside with the kids. It was just a quick hello/good-bye with Patrick. He said he'd call me sometime this weekend. He is headed home for a backpacking trip with his family. They are going to bury a time capsule for his brother that recently died.

He really is such a sweet guy and I totally love his blue eyes. Today he showed up with that five o'clock shadow thing going on which I love. I'm having fun and really enjoying this dating experience.
